FCRA Disputes: How Reasonable is Your Investigation?
Recordings

In this webinar, we will review the definition of reasonable investigation found in the Data Furnishers Rule, and discuss the enforcement and interpretation of investigation practices in litigation. Practical issues related to conducting reasonable investigations for both direct and indirect disputes will be discussed.  We’ll look at the debt substantiation a data furnisher would need to review as part of its practical processes and discuss disputes related to the original date of delinquency, and the impact that questionable accuracy and integrity of accounts can have in enforcement investigations.  We’ll also look at the involvement of the CFPB in the enforcement of the reasonable investigation standard, and its positions as expressed in filing amicus briefs in private FCRA litigation.
